Since the first edition of Chilled Steps in March 2021, the series has been curated by different musicians to showcase an array of musical styles including classical, jazz, pop and world and more. Musicians and music lovers come together to immerse themselves in the refreshing melodies and be rejuvenated after a long day.

Going into the fifth edition, renowned jazz guitarist Alan Kwan took on the challenge to expand the stage and introduce swing dance to Tai Kwun audience for the very first time! Inspired by the swing style of jazz, swing dance celebrates the spirit of freedom, improvisation and interaction and is considered a more approachable style compared with other social dances. 

On Fridays, jazz musicians from Hong Kong will warm up our audience with a selection of swing style jazz music. On Saturdays, local dance group Swing Pocket will transform the Laundry Steps into a dance floor, showcasing their unique performance. They will open the stage to the audience to get a taste of the social dance style. Whether you can dance or not, this swing dance party is for everyone!
